NAIC Arecibo Summer Student Program
- " Each summer, Arecibo Observatory hosts at least seven students for 10 weeks. The students work with staff scientists on projects related to ongoing research or instrumentation development programs. NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research
- "The Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the NIH provides an opportunity to spend the summer working side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research. Students sixteen years of age or older who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are currently enrolled at least half-time in high school or an accredited U.S. college or university are eligible to apply. Keck Geology Consortium
- The KECK Geology Consortium is a group of twelve, small geoscience departments from predominately undergraduate, liberal arts institutions that work together to improve undergraduate geoscience education. The primary activity of the Consortium is to sponsor research projects involving a collaboration of students and faculty throughout the member colleges, and also from other institutions. The results of the research projects are presented at an annual symposium in April and are published in an abstracts volume. The Consortium also sponsors workshops for students and faculty that focus on research and educational topics and participates in other projects that enhance nationwide efforts at improving undergraduate geoscience education.

Research Experiences For Undergraduates (REU) in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics
- The REU Program in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics was started at WPI in 1998 with funding from NSF. It is the only mathematics REU program in the US that exclusively involves students in real-world projects sponsored by corporate partners. This eight week program offers outstanding undergraduate students the opportunity to work on mathematical and statistical problems in close collaboration with faculty and industrial sponsors.

IRIS Undergraduate Internship Program
- The goal of this program is to involve undergraduates in seismological research projects at the universities and research institutions that belong to the IRIS Consortium. Undergraduate interns will work directly with a researcher from one of the IRIS member institutions. Research projects may involve deployment of seismic instruments in the field (within the US or internationally), or analyses of seismic data in a lab setting (for example investigations of Earth structure, earthquake sources, seismic hazards) at the IRIS member institution.
